William the Conqueror is portrayed as a lawful neutral/evil sort of ruler who is restrained but despotic in his ways, refusing to act in ways that would provoke open rebellion but acting in ways that lead to massive oppression and changes, albeit gradually. Caroline Mills is a country girl. You have to read Book 1 and 2 before you read this book. Kinda felt like the season finale of the Bachelorette. At 56 pages in length I was not expecting too many more than what was previewed on the covers, in reality there are on average from 5-6 or more border patterns on every page. Will sparks fly between these two people from different worlds. Very well written - not remotely preachy and at times, pretty funny, this YA is a great read.
