I decided to pick up on this series of books after only reading Boneshaker a few years ago, which itself was fun but sometimes felt a little clunky and sluggish. I wasn't expecting very much out of this one as the jacket premise didn't lend itself to...

Since it's listed as a series I've been looking for book 2 - can't find it. Drawing on examples of battles on land, at sea, and in the air, the authors reveal the enduring value of each tactic in clear and compelling descriptions and analysis. It is a completely original story firmly rooted in classics that call to mind The Wizard of Oz, The Chronicles of Narnia, and even Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. I could have done without the sex scenes. I also like how there are a so many well known characters (like Irc), but Croggon still adds so many new people and personalities.
